Add subjects and assign them to classes

Updated 3 July 2026

Subjects live in a school-wide catalogue. Create them once, then assign the relevant ones to each class.

Add subjects to the catalogue

Go to Subjects, then click New subject.

  • Name — required. For example, Mathematics, English Language, Agricultural Science.
  • Code — optional short label shown on result sheets. For example, MTH, ENG.

Click Create. The subject is now available to assign to any class.

Assign a subject to a class

  1. Open the class from Classes.
  2. On the class page, click Assign subject.
  3. Pick a subject from the dropdown.
  4. Optionally pick a Teacher for that subject — you can also do this later.
  5. Click Assign.

Repeat for each subject the class offers. Subjects can be assigned to multiple classes.

Assign a teacher later

If you skip the teacher when assigning, open the class page at any time, find the subject row, and click Set teacher to allocate one.

Remove a subject from a class

On the class page, click the remove button on the subject row. This removes the subject from that class only — it stays in your catalogue and in other classes.
