Add students (single)

Updated 3 July 2026

Go to People → Students, then click Add student.

Fill in the student's details

Required:

  • First name and Last name
  • Date of birth
  • Sex
  • Class — the class the student is currently enrolled in

Optional:

  • Middle name

Set a password

Schola suggests a password based on the student's first name and birth year (for example, amaka2014). You can use the suggestion or type your own — it must be at least 6 characters.

Click the eye icon to show or hide what you've typed.

After you save, the password is shown once. Copy it before closing — Schola does not store it. If it's lost, you can reset it from the student's profile.

Add guardians (optional)

Up to 2 guardians can be linked at creation:

  1. Click Add guardian.
  2. Enter the parent's email address and an optional relationship label (for example, Mother).
  3. Repeat for a second guardian if needed.

If a parent account with that email already exists in your school, they are linked automatically. If not, they receive an invitation to create an account.

After creating the student

A confirmation dialog shows the student's Student ID and Password. Share both with the student or their parent. Click Done when you've copied them.

The student can log in at your school's portal using their Student ID and password.

Next steps

  • To add many students at once, see Bulk-import students from Excel.
  • To link an additional parent later, open the student's profile and go to the Guardians tab.
