Accounting → Assistant lets you ask about your school's financial records in plain English instead of building a report to find one number.
What you can ask
Things like:
- How much did we collect this term?
- Which classes have the most outstanding fees?
- What did we spend on diesel last month?
- How much went out in salaries in the last payroll run?
It reads your fee records, payments, expenses and payroll, and answers from what's actually there.
It can't change anything
The assistant is read-only. It cannot record a payment, waive a fee, edit an expense or run payroll — asking it to won't work. Every change still goes through the normal screens, where it's recorded against your name.
That's deliberate: it means you can ask anything without worrying about what it might do.
What it can see
Only your own school's records, and only the areas you already have access to. A staff member with the fees permission but not payroll gets fee answers and nothing about salaries.
Checking the answers
Treat it as a fast way to find a number, not as your audited books. If an answer will be used for a decision that matters, open the underlying report and confirm it — the figures come from your records, but a misread question gives a confident answer to something you didn't ask.
Credits
Each question spends AI credits from your personal balance, unlike the help assistant, which is free. See AI credits.
