Settings → School profile holds the details that appear wherever your school is named — report cards, receipts, the parent portal, invitation emails and your public page.
What you can change
- Name — used on every printed and emailed document.
- Logo — appears on report cards, the sign-in screen and the sidebar. If you don't upload one, Schola generates a simple lettermark from your initials.
- Motto — shown under the greeting on dashboards.
- Contact email, phone and address — what parents and the public see.
- Web address — your subdomain.
Changes take effect immediately. You can edit any of it at any time.
Changing your web address
Your school lives at yourname.schola.ng. If you change it, three things happen:
- The new address starts working straight away.
- The old address keeps working and redirects to the new one, permanently.
- The old address is retired — nobody else can ever take it, including you.
The redirect is not temporary and isn't something to rely on less over time. Anything already printed or sent with the old address — result-checker slips, invitation emails, links on your own website — keeps working.
That said, it's worth updating anywhere you control, because the redirect only helps people who follow an old link. Anyone typing the old name from memory into a search engine may not find you.
There's no cooldown, but each rename permanently uses up another name, so it's worth settling on one.
Who can do this
Admins only. Staff don't see this page regardless of their capabilities, because the web address and school name affect everyone.
