Withhold a result

Updated 3 July 2026

Withholding a result hides it from parents, students, and the public result checker while keeping the scores intact. Use this for disciplinary holds, outstanding fees, or any situation where a student should not yet see their result.

Withhold a single student's result

  1. Go to Results, click the class, and select the term.
  2. Click the student's name to open their result card.
  3. Click Withhold.
  4. Enter a reason — this is required and cannot be left blank. The reason is shown verbatim to the student, their guardians, and anyone who checks the result on the public checker.
  5. Click Withhold result.

The result card now shows a Withheld badge. The student's result will appear as withheld on the public checker, along with the reason you entered.

Withhold multiple students at once

  1. Go to Results, click the class, and select the term.
  2. On the class results page, tick the students you want to withhold.
  3. Click Withhold selected.
  4. Enter a reason that applies to all selected students.
  5. Confirm.

Use this for situations where the same reason applies to a group — for example, Outstanding school fees.

Restore a withheld result

  1. Open the student's result card.
  2. Click Restore result.

The result becomes visible again immediately.

What students and parents see

When a result is withheld, the student and their guardians see a message that the result is being held, along with the reason you entered. No scores are shown until the result is restored.
