Go to People → Parents. There are two ways to add a parent, depending on whether they have a reliable email address.
Option 1 — Invite by email
Use this when the parent has an email address. They set their own password.
- Click Invite parent.
- Fill in First name, Last name, and Email (required). Phone is optional — they can add it on acceptance.
- Optionally pick a student from the Link to student dropdown and enter a Relationship label (e.g. Mother).
- Click Send invitation.
The parent receives an email with a link to create their account. The invitation expires in 7 days.
Option 2 — Add parent directly
Use this when the parent has no email or you want to hand them credentials yourself.
- Click Add parent.
- Fill in First name, Last name, and Phone (required). Email is optional.
- Optionally pick a student and enter a relationship.
- Click Create parent.
Schola generates a password and shows it once — copy it before closing. The parent's login identifier is their phone number (or email if you added one).
Link a parent to an additional student
A parent can be linked to up to 2 students total. To link after account creation:
- Open the student's profile from People → Students.
- Go to the Guardians tab.
- Enter the parent's email address. If an account already exists, it is linked immediately. If not, an invitation is sent.
What parents can see
Once linked, the parent can sign in and see results, fees, attendance, and announcements for their child. They cannot see other students.
