Mark the daily register

Updated 3 July 2026

The daily register records whether each student was present, absent, late, or excused on a given school day.

Form teachers

Go to My Classes, click your class, and open the Attendance tab.

The register shows every enrolled student. For each student, tap one of the four status buttons:

Button Meaning
P — Present Attended as normal
A — Absent Did not attend, no excuse
L — Late Arrived after the bell
E — Excused Absent with an accepted reason

You can add a short note to any student row — for example, a reason for absence or a late-arrival time. When marking a student Present, any existing note is cleared automatically.

Use the Date field at the top right to mark or correct the register for a previous date. You cannot select a future date.

When you are done, click Save register. A confirmation toast shows how many students were saved.

Admins and attendance officers

Admins and users with the Attendance capability can reach any class's register from Attendance → Overview. Click a class card on the overview page to open its register directly.

The workflow is the same as above.

Roster flags

If a student turns up who is not on your class list, or if a student has left but is still showing, use the Report roster issue button (on the register) to raise a flag. The attendance officer hub will show the flag with options to add the pupil or remove them from the class. See Attendance officer hub for details.
