Subscription and billing

Updated 3 July 2026

Your Schola subscription is managed from Settings → Plan. Only the school admin can access this page.

Plans

Schola offers two plans:

Plan What's included
Starter People, classes, results, attendance, events & posts
Pro Everything in Starter, plus Accounting (fees, payroll, expenses), Lesson resources & curriculum, CBT, and AI features

Pricing is per student per term, billed in naira. The exact amount is shown on the Plan page based on your current student count.

Subscribe or upgrade

  1. Go to Settings → Plan.
  2. Click the plan you want.
  3. The Paystack payment window opens. Enter your card details and complete the payment.

Once payment is confirmed, your plan activates immediately and the relevant modules unlock.

Auto-renew

If your subscription has auto-renew enabled with a saved card, it renews automatically at the start of each term. You can turn auto-renew on or off on the Plan page.

Downgrade

To move from Pro to Starter, click Schedule downgrade on the Plan page. The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle — you keep Pro access until then.

Billing notices

Schola shows a notice modal when your subscription needs attention:

  • Ending soon — your plan expires within 7 days and won't auto-renew. Go to billing to add a card or renew manually.
  • Renewal failed — a payment attempt failed. You are in a short grace period. Update your payment method before the grace period ends to avoid losing access.

Click Remind me later to dismiss the notice. It reappears after 36 hours if the issue is not resolved.

What happens when a subscription lapses

If your plan expires and is not renewed:

  • Teachers, staff, and students are locked out of the dashboard.
  • Admins retain access to Settings, People, and Inbox so the account can be managed and renewed.
  • No data is lost. Renewing restores full access immediately.
