Events and posts

Updated 21 September 2026

Events are things happening on a date. Posts are writing — a headmaster's note, a journal entry, a news item. Both are visible in the portal and can be pulled onto your school's own website.

Events

Events → New event asks for:

  • Title — for example Founders' Day 2026.
  • Web address — filled in from the title, editable. This is what appears in the link.
  • Summary — one or two lines, shown in listings.
  • Description — the full details.
  • Category, Location, Starts at and Ends at.
  • Cover image — optional.

Once saved, events appear on dashboards in the agenda card as their date approaches, and to parents and students in their portals.

Posts

Posts → New post works the same way, with an Excerpt in place of a summary and a Linked user field if you want the post attributed to a particular member of staff.

Editing and cover images

Open an item and click Edit. Replacing a cover image updates it everywhere immediately — you won't be left looking at the old picture.

On your own website

Both are available through the public API, so your school's website can show the same events and posts without anyone copying them across. Only what you've published is exposed.

See API keys and integrations.

Who can do this

Anyone with the Content permission, plus admins. Staff without it don't see either area.
